As a Civil Construction Contractor working directly for the General Contractor, Raven Construction's scope of responsibilities regularly includes:
Raven Construction has completed numerous types of industrial civil works projects in a subcontractor role varying in contract value and degrees of difficulty. With concrete construction being our main focus, Raven Construction self-performs its concrete related scope by utilizing our own experienced and competent crews. On past industrial projects this concrete related scope has included: concrete foundations for process equipment, buildings and above-grade supports; concrete tanks and lagoon structures; pits and vaults; dam surface repairs etc. The balance of civil scope is typically subcontracted out to qualified contractors and managed directly by Raven site management.
As a General Contractor, Raven Construction is hired directly by the Owner (or their representative) to perform and/or manage all aspects of construction execution on a Project. The General Contractor is directly responsible for ensuring the Owner's expectations with respect to health & safety, quality, schedule and cost controls are met, as established by the contract documents. On projects such as this, the Owner has hired a consulting firm to establish the scope of work and to design the project and often times has hired a construction management firm to oversee construction site activities on their behalf.
Under a Design / Build contract, Raven Construction is hired directly by the Owner (or their representative) to provide both design and construction execution services on a Project. This form of contract can prove to be very cost-effective for the Owner as it provides an environment to succeed where a collaborated effort by all facets of the project (owner, builder, subcontractors, engineers, architects, suppliers etc.) must work together in a team approach to ensure the expectations of the Project are met.
Under this contract format, Raven Construction is directly responsible for the overall design of the Project and will hire design consultants as needed to complete the design. Upon completion of the design, Raven Construction will act as the General Contractor to ensure that construction field activities are executed as per the design while working under the contractual constraints set out by the Owner with respect to health and safety, quality, schedule and cost control.
